I showed up way early and left about 6:30. Didn't recognize any VeloDCity riders at the start so went the century alone. Much more difficult than I remember from the last time I did it (2007), but well organized with nicely stocked rest areas. Did miss one turn and ended up doing 97 miles though not sure how. Will ride again next year better prepared for Stumptown Mountain!

I had a blast and I felt really good at the end. I actually did the 73 mile course and wished I had completed the 80+ course. I felt it was well organized and very efficiently run.

Great ride for my first metric century. I had a lot of fun. Thanks to Gregg for organizing and Chip for pacing me. Looking forward to future events.

The scenery combined with the probably the best weather that I can remember for this time of the year made the extra mileage worth it(Thanks Al!). Additional thanks to Keith and Matt for the early morning company on the long bus ride to start and the much appreciated ride to the metro station. Finally, the good folks of the Reston Bike Club outdid themselves again. The service, the route, the food, t-shirt and of course all the great volunteers were great.

Greetings folks - the plan is to meet near the registration area/skating rink at 6:45am for pictures and introductions and start off no later than 7:05am. For those of you doing the full century, I would recommend that you take Chris' advice and start around 6:30am. We'll all meet each other at one of the rest stops or at the finish.

Got my ride packet yesterday. Anyone doing the 101 mile route interested in starting off at 6:30 instead of waiting for 7:00? Gregg said he was doing the Metric Century route, so they'll be separating eventually. Also, with my speed he may overtake me by Hamilton.

Thanks for the invite, but I'm working with Team In Training to get ready for El Tour de Tucson in November. I let much of the early season pass me by, so I'm nowhere CLOSE to being able to do a Century yet! Hopefully in November it will once again be easy, and next season I can do multiple Century rides. Good luck, and have a great ride!

    •  This was my first organized century and I loved. OK, maybe I wasn't overwhelmed with love while actually hitting a few of those hills but I loved reaching the top of them. Loved the challenge of that ride. Loved that I knocked out the 100 miles on my hybrid although some folks said I couldn't do it without a lighter road bike. I'm ready for my next century!
    •  Not too many were riding the full imperial century and my speed seemed to be in between the packs. I appreciated being able to hook up with Wayne and Natasha in Hamilton for the final 23 miles as they completed their metric century.
    •  :) :) :) :)
    •  Many thanks to the good and masochistic members who attended this year's edition of the Reston Century.
    •  Great Time Great Weather and Great Folks
    •  Great ride, a bit on the hard side, but always fun :)
    •  100 miles was not gonna happen for me this year. 75 was a much better fit. But hats off to everyone who participated and accomplished what you set out to do, and so great to see you all.
