Keith - I'm with you. I'm still feeling 'weathered' and 'naked' from yesterday's ride. Also the official cumulative climbing elevation should read 5000 ft.

I've had no takers yet. I can pick up one rider and bike from Vienna Metro, about 8:30am. I'd give Gregg first refusal of squeezing himself and bike into a small car.

Gregg, I've just dropped out. Won't have my road bike back from the shop in time and will be riding the 50 States on Saturday. Right now I'm limiting myself to one long ride (if that) on weekends. Have fun everyone!

A special call for carpool arrangements. So far; Chris, Lori and I require rides to the event. Besides Stephen and Wayne(already booked), can anybody else offer a ride to the start?

After the Airmont country store, watering stops are few. Bring 2 or 3 bottles.

Did this a couple of seasons ago on a hot, hot day. Fairly steady, long climb from the foot of Bluemont all the way up to Mt Weather. A spirited plunge down, with corners, so have good brakes. The descent ends abruptly as the road joins Route 50 so be extra careful there. Naked Mtn is not at all burdensome. The final miles on Route 55 from Linden into Marshall average 300 feet drop, so it's fast, but the last 2 miles has 100 feet of climbing. The Blue Ridger is a definite accomplishment.

    •  Good ride with a well-matched group. Now to follow-up with the Catoctin Ridger ...
    •  Everyone was great, I thoroughly enjoyed everyone's company. The weather turned sunny and nice, and the scenery was beautiful. It's the simple pleasures that make life great, what more could you ask for!
    •  Good route (well described in the pre-ride notice) and a very congenial group of riders.
    •  The weather actually turned out to be great! The terrain, scenery and the climbs and especially the company made it great day. Special thanks to everyone who attended and especially Wayne for the ride. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing everyone on the next excursion.
    •  This was a fantastic ride and such a great group of guys to do it with. Thanks!
