5:34... My 1st Century. The event was extremely well organized, and very well attended. Unfortunately, I didn't find other members. I did, however, find the massage therapists at the finish!

"Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers until late afternoon...Then a slight chance of showers late. Cooler with highs around 70. West winds 10 to 15 mph...Becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent." A long stiff ride into a 10-15 mph wind from Berlin back to Salisbury. Never will aero-bars be more useful than this. I'll be at Wayne and Bateman 7:00 to 7:30ish in VeloDCity jersey and bib 748. See if we can get a picture before all fragmenting into our own ride speeds.

I am going to be in OC by 3pm on Friday. My bib # is 2187. I think my work team is trying to start by 7:30. We are not stopping at the first rest stop. Steve you might wanna hook up with my work team. We should be cranking out at or close to 18 mph.

What's the strategy for getting out of town Friday evening to minimize traffic hassles? I'll be leaving from MoCo about 6pm and tooling round the top of the beltway, then out Route 50 to the bridge. When does the Beltway madness ease up? Is the bridge backed up?

Wow, sorry to hear about your knee mr Matt, I have a large group of 50 plus to play with. Was looking forward to the ride with you. Stay safe and heal up soon sir. The year is not over yet, I still do the Bike Place shop ride on Sundays.

Matt - Sorry to hear about the knee, to quote my doctor: "Take it easy and live to ride another day". Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Seagull but I will be sending an email along with the Oct newsletter shortly.

Hoping I still can ride this weekend. Did something to my knee last weekend. Still nice and swollen. I'll test the cycling mobility later this week. If I end up riding unfortunately I don't think it'll be 20+mph as hoped (James - it seems like you'll have plenty others to pull you along). Gregg - have you thought of a good place to meet and time (and please don't make it 7am).

I will be starting out at 8am with a fast group in the lot across from the tunnel. I will be not stopping at the first rest stop but will be stopping at the second rest stop. This is a A group ride with mph around 25 plus. If you got the need for speed come jump in and hang on. Hope to see you out there on the road or at the rest stops.

I'm new to the group. 50 States ride was a fun and challenging 65 miles. Now, it's time for my first century. I booked a room at the Courtyard. Let me know if you need a room and are willing to split the cost. Email me at [masked]. By the way, my Sea Gull number is 4880.

Rich B - No, the fee is for those folks who have not registered yet. If you're planning to ride: what are you waiting for? As of 9/01/09, the entry fee is now $75+service charges. That's not including the likely hotel costs which are very difficult to come by at this point. Laura - The fee does cover rest stop food but if you really want to, you're welcome to pay for it again.

I already signed up for this months ago, is the $55 in addition to that? I'm looking for a group planning on riding at a decent pace since the wife switched to the metric.

Snacks can be "purchased" before, during and after the ride?? Then, what the heck is the $55 for?? We also have to buy our own nourishment! ;-)

I'll be there- signed up for this months ago. If you guys pick a meeting spot I'd be up for saying hi. Also, if anyone is doing the buffet at the school cafe after, my friend and I will be there and it would be great to have more folks to eat with. :)
