Civil War Century - September 12th

I'm riding the 50 mile option this year, that goes Thurmont - Emmitsburg - Fairfield - Gettysburg - Barlow - back down to Thurmont. Apart from one short stiff hill between Emmitsburg and Fairfield, this route is surprisingly flat. I'll try not to fall off and break my finger at Mason Dixon and Horner Road this time.

Anybody else planning other Civil War options?

I signed up for the full 100 but forgot that is the same day as the JMU vs MD football game. Depending on the time of the game I may have to bail on the entire ride or perhaps shorten it.

I'm aiming for the 20mph ride that I missed at Betterton in June. So if we start before 7:30 we'll finish before 10:00. Worst case disaster scenario would be in the 2:40s. I did the 'broken finger' ride in 3:01, having fallen off at 34 miles.

The BBC website says that the Civil War is now sold out.

Chris, that is accurate. It's sold out.

Is anyone interested in selling his/her entry to the Civil War Century Ride? I am coming into town from Chicago and would like to do the ride with my brother who is already signed up...please let me know if I can buy your entry.

Doesn't football seem like more fun that day :)
