So, if you want to lead rides, let me know, and I will make you an asst organizer. These are rides mainly out of Montgomery County, but can be elsewhere. We also do mountain biking rides.

Laura,

Glad you stepped up to it. Many of my rides are on MoCo territory anyway, so I might as well cross-post with VeloDCity. When we get warmth and light again, some spirited weekday evening rides will be in order too. May as well put me back as an Asst. Org.

Who knows, one day you might get your inner tube back.

Greetings Laura,

Congratulations on the new position. I know that the Maryland group will prosper in your very capable hands. Please let me know if there is anything I can do help out.

Bests,
gregg

Stephen...

I seem to go through a lot of tubes... so, perhaps so. In fact, I go through a lot of tires, as well, as is the current status of my bike.

I wanted to "save" this group... if only to keep the photos on the site ;-).

Maybe I will get incentive to install my new carbon handle bars and stem. I might cave and pay someone to do it, despite the "fun" involved and the time I don't have. But, don't tell anyone. I assume that no one on this board is listening.

Biggest hassle there is the brake levers and shifters, and then readjusting all the gears again. If you wanted to convert to single speed I'd install 'em for you myself. Not up to those shifters though ... My winter project: I bought a couple of DT Swiss rims and a pair of all-city large flange hubs. Going to build the wheels. Fixed of course, so no dishing and no exotic spoke arrangements.

If you get Vittoria Evos or even Vittoria Rubinos you might stop going through tubes.

Posted our first ride with me as organizer for Oct. 31. 20 miles to start with. No carbon bars for this ride. I will be lucky if I get my new tire on before the ride. Given my busted shoulder.... I might have to drive the bike over to get assistance. We shall see....
