About The Las Vegas Bicycling Meetup Group

Welcome to our group!!!
The goal of this group is to get on the road for exercise, learning bike maintenance, and supporting each as we enjoy the outdoors. We'll be all around town, so expect to drive to where you bike. We'll bike all over, on bike paths, safe roads, Red Rock, Lake Las Vegas and who knows where we come up with ideas to go! We also hope for your suggestions!! We invite beginners, intermediate and advance riders. We're here for those that don't want to feel intimidated and support each other and have fun doing it! So, let's get riding....

Difficulty explanations: BEGINNER = B / INTERMEDIATE = I / ADVANCE = A
- BEGINNER rides average around 8-10 miles on fairly flat surfaces, but will depend on the level of each rider.
- BEGINNER to INTERMEDIATE rides are still fairly easy, but adding on a couple of minor hills, which are fun going down, about 15 miles or more.
- INTERMEDIATE rides are about 20+ miles, a few more hills and faster speeds.
- INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCE rides hit 30/40 miles plus, with more hills and even faster speeds!
- ADVANCE can can ride 50+ miles, with lots of hills and at higher speeds, and with their eyes closed!
Note: If you're a more hard core Advance rider, please join us anyway and pass on your great knowledge to the rest of the members. You will find a couple advance cyclists here, who will organize an advance ride for you or if you are willing to chill out with the less advance. There's a lot of advance cycling teams out here in Vegas: McGhiees, High Desert Cycling Club, Vegas Velo Racing Team, Inc, Sierra Nevada College, McGhie's High Roller Bicycle Club, NU Vision Cyclery,Spring Mountain Cycling Club, T3 Multisport/Las Vegas Cyclery, Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club, plus more. So, Advancers.....chill and just bike for fun.

1) PLEASE, PLEASE complete your profile and POST A FACE PICTURE!! How can we find each other if I don't know what you look like. Would hate to delete your profile for non-compliance of such a simple thing.
2) Honor the RSVP system. If you say "YES", please show! Don't be flaky....we make an effort to show, so you should too. After 3 "YES" RSVPs and you fail to SHOW, you will be considered for deletion from the group. (It's like being stood up!) After 3 months of non-attendance, Meetup considers you "Inactive", we won't drop you from the group, but try to talk you into showing. Meetup main drops you after about 10 months.
