Posted by Sydnie: This is more of a North Las Vegas bike ride. Just feel like doing an easy ride near home....in case anyone is available mid-week Wednesday. I'll be heading from my house at 8 AM and can meet anyone at the Park. From there will go all the way up (yes up) Gowan to 215 West. The fun side is riding down. Hope someone joins me! Syd

Posted by Sydnie: Hey Cyclists! For those of you that are still thinking if you want to ride the Tour de Summerlin.....though t I would make a test ride out there. If we make a goal to ride together in this group, we'll be able to help each other through the finish line. For those not always available on Sundays, I'm splitting this up to a couple EASY Saturday and Sunday rides. Participants will start and finish the ride at the Summerlin Centre Community Park. Will meet at the start point on Saturday and try the North area, then on Sunday, the South area. We will not be heading down Red Rock this time. If any of you want to do both North and South on Saturday....let me know and I'll think about it!! ;>}~~ Remember, the Tour de Summerlin is a non-competitive bike ride featuring 10-mile, 35-mile and 80-mile rides. We are going to familiarize ourselves with only part of the 35 mile route. This ride is exclusively through the Summerlin community and will feature scenic views of the Spring Mountain range, Red Rock Canyon and the entire Las Vegas Valley and winds through the streets of Summerlin. So come join us and if you've already registered....great. ...but, if not, then please do so. Let's wish each other well and/or bike together! Posted by Sydnie: Well Cyclist.... Let's try a different start for a change. Anyway, most cyclist tend to begin their rides in Summerlin (Charleston's Starbucks), and either take their ride to Red Rock National Park's Lookout point or dare to go all the way South to Blue Diamond's Bike Outpost. So, to familiarize those that have never biked that south route......thought we would begin at the Bike Outpost instead, and work our way back North towards the Lookout Point, or Red Rock Park Entry.....or dare we....all the way to Charleston/Summerlin . Naaah, not yet! (That's 35 miles roundtrip). Let's just meet at the Outpost and see where we end up. Directions to Outpost: http://www.bikeoutpo st.com/pop_direction s.html Difficulty status: This is a beginner to intermediate ride, pretty even, with a couple of minor hills (but they're fun going down)! There are no lights and traffic to cross, but you just have to be aware that you will be on a bike path with fast cars driving by. (Zoom Zoom....) Anyone with road bikes will do just fine, but those with mountain or Hybrids will just have to pedal a little harder. NO ONE will be left behind! Pay attention: If we don't get any more than 3 "YES RSVP's", this event will be moved to my alternate/back up route up at North Las Vegas - 215/Aliante Information Gallery area. I'm biking no matter what! It's going to be a beautiful day....so let's ride!!

We will go on a beginners level bike ride out to the Overlook parking lot at Red Rock. All members are welcomed. Make sure to bring cold weather clothing, such as tights, arm warmers, multiple layers, etc. It will be a great opportunity to meet other cyclists and get more rides organized. We will meet at the Starbucks on Charleston and Town Center, across from the Red Rock Casino. If I do not recieve any RSVP's, then the ride will be cancelled. See u there
