We will start at Lake Las Vegas, within the village by the water. There is a Saxby's coffee, where we'll meet and get a coffee if needed. We will go through the river mountain trail to the visitors center and back. There are a few climbs and some twisting downhills. Most of the route is traffic free, we will be on road for the first and last 3 miles. I think it will be almost 30 miles round trip. Afterwards we will get lunch at the Irish Pub next door to Saxbys, so bring cash! PLEASE RSVP any questions, just send me an email Ryan

Las Vegas 7-Peak Challenge 06:00 a.m. LAS VEGAS 7-PEAK CHALLENGE Route and elevation data at http://www.mapmyride .com/ride/united-sta tes/nv/las-vegas/531 296611 205 miles, over 16,500 ft. of climbing, 7 big climbs On May 9th, at 6:00am sharp, a few brave souls with be attempting the LAS VEGAS 7-PEAK CHALLENGE. The ride will start at the Starbucks parking lot at Charleston and Town Center Drive. This route is the hardest double century ride in Nevada and 3rd hardest in the California series. >From the Starbucks parking lot, we will head to the Cold Creek climb via Durango, Frontage road, and I-95. The Cold Creek climb is Las Vegas' best kept secret, almost never climbed by any locals. It is a 3,000 ft. climb that takes 14 miles to complete. The views on the descent are truly amazing, just don't look around too much as you descend the mountain at over 50mph. After descending Cold Creek, we will continue on to the Lee Canyon climb, one of North America's hardest. At the top, we will turn around and climb Deer Creek pass to cross to the Kyle Canyon side. We will ascend to the top of Kyle Canyon and turn around to return to Las Vegas. We will make our way thru Summerlin via the easiest climb of the day, Villa Ridge. Just two more climbs await, Mt. Potosi and the Red Rock Loop. SAG SUPPORT = 3 SAG VEHICLES will be provided, with some tools, supplies, water, Gatorade, and some goodies. IF YOU DO THE WHOLE ROUTE = Be prepared to be on your own and possibly even riding past sunset. Riding past sunset legally requires a good front/rear lighting system and reflectors. Be prepared to ride safe at night. Any riders who would like to join, but are not sure about finishing, should not worry because unlike other doubles, there are many bail-out opportunities along the way. Come and ride for as long as you wish. TO RSVP OR FOR QUESTIONS..CONTACT ALEX IRIZARRI AT irizari_bikes@cox.ne t

You'll have to take a Friday morning off to do this one, but I hope you'll join me. This was my brainchild. I'm a commuter. I've been up and down Alta a hundred times a year since 1990. I get so frustrated with drivers and blame it on a lack of awareness. Now, the City striped this beautiful bike lane from "Downtown to Red Rock", but they failed to follow through with outreach. So the idea is to have riders all over this route during the morning commute. A second meeting location (West) will be at the Vistas Park at Park Vista and Alta (Please only respond to one location). From each meetup location we'll send out a rider or two every 5 minuites from the west side (downhill) and every 10 minutes from the east side (uphill). Each rider will ride to the farthest end of Alta and return. It should take 1:45 to 2:00. Riders would obey ALL laws, STAY IN THE BIKE LANE, not obstruct traffic beyond their rights (no stopping in a right turn lane). We're not going to be out there to piss drivers off, just to make our presence eveident. The route is 28 miles round trip, 14 miles each way. With the great weather coming, I thought I would have a ride for those new to the sport or those who just have a lot of questions. We will be riding around the Tuscany Park, 3/4 mile loop that has little or no traffic. When I started cycling I was always afraid of not being able to keep up witht the more experienced riders or doing something that may cause an accident. I was lucky to have a really team that helped me along and taught me alot - and I will hopefully pass on the knowledge to anyone willing to join me. We will be going over 'group cycling etiquette', so that when you join groups for rides you will be able to have a safe and fun ride. I will also try to answer any questions you may have about cycling. This ride will be open to anyone wanting to join us, you dont have to be a beginner. The park ride allows riders to go as fast and as long as they want - so dont be concerned with "not being able to keep up", because you will be able to go at your own pace. I will also bring my bike tools, incase any of you need something fixed (maybe I can fix it) Please RSVP if you want to go
