Introduction
I used to be an intermediate cyclist with big ambitions, but due to health reasons, am now sticking to beginner rides. Very limited on a bike until 2006. Got seriously hooked and love to ride, so hoping to encourage others to join me!
Can you share more details on your biking group goals; type of bike you have, and do you have all bike gear? Have all of you posted a picture and read the RSVP rules on the -ABOUT US- Link? Will you sign the Liability Form?
Have a great Trek bike, all the gear (helmet, clip ons shoes, clothing). YES....I created the RSVP rules! Remind yourself what it's like to be stood up - then hopefully you'll understand. But each organizer is in charge of their own event.
What major cross streets do you live near, any routes in town you'd like to share or try out with the group? How far are you willing to drive for a biking event? Are you here for exercise and/or socializing?
Live near Craig and Decatur, and bike: North to Aliante, or East to Centennial/I15 (pushing towards Nellis), West up Gowan to the top/Desert Shores/Summerlin. Will drive to Red Rock or Henderson meeting areas, but prefer close to home.
What days of the week are best for you to bike? Do know bike maintenance or like to learn? Need guidance or help with bike and accessory purchase info?
My schedule varies, so...who knows when I will organize a ride. Have taken a bike maintenance class at McGhies, where they have helped with lots of great information on bike and accessory purchases.
How long have you been biking, how often do you ride, your average distance, speed and how comfortable are you riding on the streets? Or do you prefer bike paths only? Have you done or are you interested to train partial or full Centuries?
Began riding May '06 and completed my first 1/2 Century at The 2006 Las Vegas Century and my second 1/2 century in 2007. Also did the Tour de Summerlin. Would love to do the MS Gamblers ride to Mesquite....a whole lotta 200 miles.
If you are an Advanced cyclist, are you ok riding with less experienced cyclists and are you willing to share knowledge with the group? ANYONE: Would you be willing to lead a group ride (group MUST stay together) or become an Assistant Organizer?
Never will be an Advance. Am happy as a Beginner-Intermediate. Love riding with Beginners, to get them motivated to push beyond their limitations! Just LOVE to ride!!!!

"Tried out a new route and it was ok. Riding on Centennial is not great for beginners, due to lots of traffic. The only reason we mistakenly got on this road is that I was enjoying great conversation with another member, so missed our turn. ..."
