Introduction

Hi, my name is Dahlia and I like to bike road and trail. I also hike and run. My husband is an avid cyclist and is a manager at a LBS. We live in Summerlin and are working to build a larger and friendlier biking community.

Can you share more details on your biking group goals; type of bike you have, and do you have all bike gear? Have all of you posted a picture and read the RSVP rules on the -ABOUT US- Link? Will you sign the Liability Form?

My main goal is to support the cycling community any way that I can. Currently, I have a Specialized Allez and a borrowed Cannondale Caffene hardtail although sometimes its a Cannondale Rush (one day I will own a Top Fuel WSD...sigh)

What major cross streets do you live near, any routes in town you'd like to share or try out with the group? How far are you willing to drive for a biking event? Are you here for exercise and/or socializing?

Town Center and Charleston (Starbucks meeting place), out to Red Rock overlook or Blue Diamond, I don't mind driving if the ride is worth it (Las Vegas is NOT that big, dude) and we go out of state occasionally for bike races/events. Exercise/advocacy

What days of the week are best for you to bike? Do know bike maintenance or like to learn? Need guidance or help with bike and accessory purchase info?

It depends on my life. Right now its summer vacation and my days are pretty open. Later, when school starts, its a matter of work load. I can change a tire (theoretically) and I can put my chain back on :) Mostly I rely on the kindness of strangers.

How long have you been biking, how often do you ride, your average distance, speed and how comfortable are you riding on the streets? Or do you prefer bike paths only? Have you done or are you interested to train partial or full Centuries?

Been biking for about 8 years, since I met my husband. I ride at least 1-2 days/wk. Average distance is however far I can get in about an 60-90 min, speed is slow/mod. and I'm pretty comfortable riding the streets on my side of town.

If you are an Advanced cyclist, are you ok riding with less experienced cyclists and are you willing to share knowledge with the group? ANYONE: Would you be willing to lead a group ride (group MUST stay together) or become an Assistant Organizer?

I may not be able to lead a group ride yet but I know many people who might. I think of myself as more of a link in the chain of events.
