Hello Organizers and members.
The very best time for riding a bike is amongst us! Autumn! Yes! I urge all organizers to begin posting rides that are convenient to them, fit their riding style and would apeal to others. If you do not have weekends off,..Organize on your days, and be consistant. I couldnt begin to count the times I organized a shop ride, e-mailed my store members and I was the only one who showed. Did I have a bad time? NO! Mount Charleston? Red Rock? I love to ride! I love taking in the scenery With others or by myself. If you consistantly post your ride, eventually people will decide to try it. And if your alone? have a great time anyway.
This could be a great meetup group with fantastic participation (look at the involvement of the MTB meetup) that is an example of what this one can be. It does take some effort from organizers and members. Members, If you have a suggestion fo a ride or event,..e-mail me or another organizer. I will be happy to post it, organize it or ride it.

Yea Rocky!!! Good for you sending this email out! cool Someone else hitting his head against the wall hoping to wake up this group. I've sent out a few emails and have posted a couple messages on this board commenting about getting organizers and people revved up to ride. Got a little movement, but nothing to write home about. Totally agree with you about Autumn being one of the best times to ride. I just wish I myself had consistent days off. My work schedule rotates, but is subject to change. I might also only get split days off, so I choose to sleep in on that rare day off, especially when I might get off work at midnight the night before. Only get 1 weekend a month off, unless I'm needed. My manager calls "work" his "other wife" that sees him more than his real one. Anyway, I'll try posting a couple beginner-intermediate rides in the next couple of weeks, since I'm back to that level again. I am taking a couple days off for vacation to finish remodeling my home (myself!).....then back to the grinding work hours. By the way, I work at Lowe's NE if anyone needs anything. smile
Speaking of work, Rocky, you are privileged to not only have your own business and know your own hours, but be an organizer with his own bike shop where people can meet at. So, in defense of the rest of us organizers, that might have to answer to the corporate Gods, we can only make time to ride when they loosen our leashes. Ryan gave me the great privilege of being his primary organizer last year and scheduling most of those rides....but I was also unemployed and stressed because of it. Thanks Ryan for letting me take my stress out on these rides. Glad we got more organizers listed this year.
So, humm....where are we? Aileen, never met you, you are 215 and Far Hills - great Summerlin riding. Annette, you are Bermuda & Silverado Ranch, right near RYAN. Chris Lovett, never met you, you are Sandhill/Tropicana - head to Boulder Hwy, great riding there. Collin, you are at Green Valley and Warm Springs-you go everywhere dude! Jorge.....jorge....dude, you live in the East, but go everywhere. Julia, you are Boulder Hwy/Lake Mead Pkwy (woo hoo...great Lake Las Vegas, Lake Mead and Boulder City riding area). Joseph, you are Central-Sahara...umm surprise us. Rocky.....keep rocking in the NW. Stacey, never met you, but you are Lake Mead/Rampart....(woo hoo, great Red Rock & Summerlin area)....I'm sure lot's will join you! Tom, I know you are somewhere in NW. Me, sticking to the North. So, how about a little challenge? Can the rest of you organizers consider JUST doing 1 ride per month each? Ok, ok....every couple months?! At least before it get's into winter. BUT....the biggest challenge is to the members. If we go to the trouble of scheduling these rides, will you at show up at least ONCE! Please note that if we organizers take the time to organize, we appreciate when members courteously show up. Also note, meetup deletes you from the group after about 10 months of not visiting the site. So, please join us in a ride! Sydnie cool
