For anyone who is interested, there are some newly proposed fees to bicyclists and pedestrians in the new draft business plan for the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, as prepared by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)...

Here's the info for you to read:

The BLM is accepting public comments...now is your time to be heard.

Thank you!

Thanks Lisa for this very important message, I have pinned your message to the top of the Message Board. Though the fees don't personally affect me (disabled Vet allows me lifetime free park entry), I think bicyclists should write BLM to complain. Bicyclists don't take up much room on the road, nor do we cause road destruction or air pollution. So why charge bicyclists the same fee as gas hogs, how about less. If they are seriously considering a fee for Red Rock Overlook on SR-159, that's a slap in the face! Las Vegas is already lacking in bicycle friendliness bike paths and now they want to penalize healthy bicyclists. Though I may not be biking as much, keeping it near home, I still plan to write BLM with my view. Happy riding all.......
