Busse Woods Warm Up Ride - 8 mile loop (JD)

I am going to be at Busse Woods (Schaumburg / Arlington Hts / Elk Grove Village) to get some exercise after work.

If you're new to cycling or just not in "top form" yet, this ride is designed for you, but if you're experienced, you can do this ride also.

Busse Woods has an 8 mile loop, it's asphalt paved; so, you can use any type of bike on it. I am planning to get there and start riding in loops. If you are there before I start riding, I will ride with you. In fact, if we get enough people we will ride in "pairs". Each pair will break up according to desired speed. If you want to ride slow, then ride slow. If you want to ride fast, then ride fast. If I don't see you at the start, call my cell*. I will have my blue tooth ear piece on and will be able to answer the phone while I'm riding (but not have lengthy conversations mind you..) I will either stop and get you at my next loop, or try to hook you up with someone else who is there. Don't worry, you can hardly get lost, so long as you make only left (or right) turns only.

Location
Busse Woods has several entrances. This particular one is off of Arlington Heights Road just north of Higgins across from the GM dealership.

It is the park area where the Elk Grove actually is. If you go somewhere and don't see any Elk, you're in the wrong place.

Sunset is about 8:06pm these days; so, if you get there at 5:30pm, you probably have time for three loops, depending on how fast you ride.

Weather
If it rains hard or if there is lightening, I wont ride. If it's just a drizzle, I put on my rain gear and go.

Watch for the weather forecast for temperatures and what to wear.

General rule is that you will "feel" 20 degrees warmer when you're riding.

Helmet and Waiver Required to Ride with the Group
This year for CCM Rides, helmets will be required. You will sign a waiver as well.

Without these, you will not be able to ride with the group. I will carry them with me.

Arriving Late?
Find the trail head (on the north end of the lot) and ride to the left, follow the path in a clockwise circle. Make sure you follow the Red Arrows. Look for the group coming the other way. I will have a helmet with colored stripes on it. We'll likely be the only group of 6 to 10 cyclists riding; so, we should be easy to spot. You will run into us within 20 minutes.
