Who

Come join us for an enjoyable ride along A1A. We ride from the Linton Blvd. Bridge in Delray Beach, south to the Seven Eleven store which is just before East Hillsboro Blvd. No rest stops - total ride is only 18-19 miles.

Why

Have fun, meet members of the Road Cyclist's group, get some fresh air!

Organized by

""We meet in the Bank America Plaza, on the SE corner of Linton Blvd. & Federal Highway in Delray Beach. Park in the parking lot closest to the bridge, on Linton Blvd., not by the bank. Rob and I will be in a quad-cab, white pickup truck.""
--Lynn Smythe and Robert Smythe

Details

The total length of this ride is approximately 18 miles. This is a great way to get in a short road ride during the week, after work.

We ride from the Linton Blvd. bridge, south to the 711 store just before Hillsboro Blvd. At the halfway point we ride past the 711 and make a right turn to go back north through a residential neighborhood. We ride pretty slow through this neighborhood - kind of like a rolling rest stop. We come out just east of the Camino Real bridge and continue east on Camino Real to get back onto A1A. Then we take A1A all the way back to Linton Blvd.

Meet at 6:00 PM to leave by 6:15 PM. Lights shouldn't be necessary. Total time to do this ride is just about one hour. Since this is such a short ride, we usually try to go a bit faster than normal. Also an opportunity to do some interval training if you desire. Average speed all depends on who shows up - could be 18-20 MPH, could be faster if anyone wants to do some sprints.

Lynn's cell phone: 561-239-0991. Rob's cell phone: 561-239-2880. Now that our days stay lighter longer, we are starting back with our Thursday evening rides. We plan on doing the Thursday evening ride every week.

Hope to see you there!
