Our group organizes casual rides for lesbian identified women. We discover different parts of Chicagoland with the emphasis on fun, exploration and light exercise. Rides will more often than not be in the slow range of 8 to 12 mph and will in most cases use off street trails, streets with bike lanes or side streets designated as bike routes. Occasional limited use of secondary roads and moderately busy city streets may occur. If more athletically inclined members wish to step up and lead individ …

I created this group in hopes of finding friends in the area that enjoy biking, walking and using public transit to get to places, activities and functions. My husband and I choose to live car-free, renting a vehicle when the need arises. I have a variety of interests and expect the group to have an even bigger variety. Examples of outings might include: biking to Algonquin Commons for shopping; taking the train to Arlington Park and biking over to Woodfield; taking the train to attend a race da …

Are you an indie girl wandering the cold streets of Chicago? If so, you've come to the right place. We want together a group of music loving, bike riding, artistically inclined, pseudo weird girls to have fun! For me this group was borne out of the desire to escape mainstream culture, how many times have I stood around in a group of women and felt like wow I just don't relate to you: no, I don't care if the Cubs won last night, not really interested in what sorority you were in, and NO …

4-days after the 2010 earthquake struck Haiti, Chicagoans of this Meetup started spreading the message that HAITI needs help for a long, long time. One of the inspiration to start this group was an e-mail received 1-day after the earthquake, from Meetup co-founder Scott Helferman. He suggested to think about how to help Haiti by means of using a Meetup. Obviously if you’ve donated your share already, kindly pass this information to someone who likes to further help. Honestly your word-of-mouth p …
