Civitan Rolls is a two day bicycle ride through Franklin, Wake and Lee Counties. Through this project, the Civitan Clubs of Area 5 hope to raise awareness of their mission and to raise funds to support their ongoing community development and improvement projects. We are a group of cyclists of all levels who get together for rides, followed by socializing at the Hibernian Irish Pubs in Raleigh and Cary. Many of us are members of Hibernian's Bike MS team and participate in the annual Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride in September. MSFITS = Multiple Sclerosis First in Team Spirit! We are a varied group of road cyclist that rides together for fun, exercise and towards the goal of fighting Multiple Sclerosis. We have informal group rides throughout the year and fund raising rides a three times each year. We also ride as a team in the MS Bike Tour each fall. Riders and volunteer are needed and welcome. The “Selma” in “Selma Cyclepaths” is a little misleading, as few of the team members live or cycle in Selma. Selma is the home of one of the founding members who named the team in 1993. There has been little interest in changing the tradition or the alliteration of the name. While many of the Cyclepaths are from Johnston County, just as many are from Wake, Orange and Durham counties.
