This group is dedicated to riding bicycles for fun , fitness , and recreation. Keeping that in mind , the majority of the riding will be done off road , away from the busy , possibly distracted cell phone and texting automobile drivers . We will explore the various rail trails in Dutchess , Orange , Ulster , and Columbia counties. Do you live in the Mid-Hudson Valley? Are you age 55 and above with free time during the day on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday? Do you love outdoor activities? Do you prefer to go at a relaxed pace, taking time to enjoy anything interesting along the way? If so, then this group is for you! We will be hiking, bicycling on rail trails (or any place without cars), bicycling on lightly traveled roads, kayaking on quiet waters, and snowshoeing. No one will be left behind on our adventures!

Get together with others to enjoy the outdoors! Activities include hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and more. Activities will be done at a relaxed pace - no one will be left behind. We will take time to experience the beauties of nature in the company of like-minded spirits. If your primary interest is getting to a destination as fast as possible, or peak-bagging, this meetup is not for you. Most hikes will be five to nine miles long, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is needed.
This MeetUp is for moderate-level road cyclists interested in rides between 20 and 50 miles. The majority will be in the 20-25 mile range in the Bethlehem area. The primary goal is to get fresh air for a few hours, and to find other cyclists who like to ride on the road in an easygoing, social group. The expected speed will average in the 14-16 mph range, so probably best to have a road bike, though people have been known to do that on hybrids.
